Jaime Joel Rodriguez-Santiago
Jaime is an Early-Stage Researcher in the Entrepreneurship Research Unit at Tallinn University of Technology where he is pursuing a PhD in Digitalization and Entrepreneurial Ecosystems. His research, supervised by Prof. Dr. Aki Harima, examines the impact of digitalization in the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems (EE). His research interests revolve around the interplay between EE and sustainable transitions, how digital entrepreneurship shapes and gets shaped by the ecosystem and leveraging technology for social good. Prior to academia, he held various roles in local and international public accounting firms where he specialized in financial advisory and business risk services. He has worked with clients across various industries in Puerto Rico, the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean leading projects in the areas of financial modeling, internal audit, financial due diligence for M&A transactions, and business process reviews. He also worked in the nonprofit sector, where he conducted research on disaster recovery following the impacts of hurricanes Irma and María on Puerto Rico and led the design and evaluation of business support programs for nascent entrepreneurs in underserved communities. Jaime is also the Founder of Labfields, where he leverages his past experiences to design accessible tools and services that help small businesses adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.
