I received my PhD degree in chemical and materials technology at Tallinn University of Technology in 2017. From 2017 till 2021, I was employed as a researcher in the Laboratory of Thin Film Chemical Technologies, Department of Materials and Environmental Technology, at TalTech. Since 2021, I work as a senior researcher in the same research group but under a new name of Laboratory for Thin Film Energy Materials, Department of Materials and Environmental Technolog, at Taltech. In 2023, I obtained a special Guest Status at HZB providing the possibility for regular secondments at HZB with access to advanced platform for characterization of PV materials and devices. My expertise encompasses research and development of semiconductor materials for optoelectronic devices including various metal oxides, metal chalcogenide thin films and nanostructured materials for photovoltaics. I have more than 8 years of R&D experience in thin film deposition processes and PV technologies. Experienced scientist in the field of CdTe thin film solar cells and related chalcogenide materials processing and analysis. I supervised 9 master students, 2 PhD successfully defended, 3 PhD students and one MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship under supervision, co-author of > 30 ISI WOS publications, h-index: 16 (i10-index: 20), >700 citations scholar. During the last 5 years I was the co-author of 20 publications (WoS), and participated in >15 national and international projects in cooperation with the academic, business, and public sectors. • Coordinator of COST Action CA21148 (‘’Research and International Networking on Emerging Inorganic Chalcogenides for Photovoltaics, RENEW-PV’’) - an astonishing pan-European R&I collaboration between 50 countries (>350 officially active members), involving research institutions and universities at the cutting edge of research in chalcogenide PV materials, (including 10 SMEs & PV companies) and with a growing interest in emerging thin film materials for PV. • Coordinator and PI of Estonian Research Council - MOB3PRT2, under Horizon EU CETPartnership program, project: "Sustainable Antimony Chalcogenide Thin-Film TAndem Solar Technology", PI from Estonia side of CETPartnership Joint Call 2023, Cetp-2023-00435 ENPOWER: Sustainable chalcogenide thin films for low power photovoltaics. PI of national R&D project PSG689, WP leader in PRG627 and the main executor of the EU H2020 952509 -5GSOLAR and EEA Baltic research projects. I have held oral and invited talks at international conferences like EMRS, MRS, ICMAT-MRS, International kesterite workshop & conference. A full list of activities can be found in my ETIS CV. In excellent research, several aspects are important; I would like to point out the following: • “Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is progress, Working together is success.” E. Hale. • Creation of new knowledge and understanding, sharing and exchanging of knowledge in a specific field of research, outreach to all the stakeholders in the value chain and outreach to wider public, having impact on society and citizens. • Clear vision, research hypothesis, long and short-term aims and detailed action plan. • Complementary and unique deep competences and expertise. • Ability to detect emerging research fields, and present your expertise among the first movers. • Professional research team with complementary expertise. • Active involvement of young talents: master, PhD and post-doctoral students.
