Paul Christian Seitlinger
Since October 2016, Dr. Paul Seitlinger is a team member of the EU Era Chair project CEITER ("Cross-Border Educational Innovation thru Technology-Enhanced Research”, http://ceiter.tlu.ee) headed by Prof. Tobias Ley (Tallinn University, School of Educational Sciences), where his focus is on socio-cognitive foundations (e.g., search of memory and Web space, creative cognition, artifact-mediated social interactions) of new forms of learning, such as self-directed information discovery and hypotheses testing in schools. During 2012 and 2016 he has been Post-doc in the Cognitive Science Section (CSS, http://kti.tugraz.at/css/; Graz University of Technology) working on computational modelling approaches towards self-directed Web search and manifestations/correlates of this search behaviour, such as tag-based annotations/reflections of discovered Web content. This work has mainly taken place in the context of two Austrian Science Fund (FWF) projects MERITS (P 25593-G22, http://kti.tugraz.at/css/projects/merits/) and OMFix (P 27709-G22, http://kti.tugraz.at/css/projects/omfix/), where he has been the primary researcher. Additionally, his participation in the EU FP7 projects weSPOT (http://kti.tugraz.at/css/projects/wespot/) and Learning Layers (http://learning-layers.eu) allowed for an inter-disciplinary work with computer scientists to implement the outcomes of the FWF projects in form of recommendation mechanisms supporting search activities (Web resource recommendations) and reflections (tag recommendations) in informal workplace learning scenarios (Learning Layers) and inquiry-based learning in schools (weSPOT). He received his PhD (Dr.rer.nat.) in Psychology at the University of Graz (Karl-Franzens Universität) in October 2012.
