Background: He is founder of the intelligent computer vision (iCV) research lab which is now serving as an AI/GenAI boutique company. He wass also the supervisor of Philosopher, the Estonian Robocup team. He is an IEEE Senior member and was the Chair of Signal Processing/Circuits and Systems/Solid-State Circuits Joint Societies Chapter of IEEE Estonian section. He has got the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) and Estonian Research Council Grant (PUT638) and has been involved in many international industrial projects such as AIDesign, A.G.E., iRental and Virtual Fitting Room. Experience: He is expert in affective computing, computer vision, human-robot interaction, graphical models, virtual and augmented reality and artificial intelligence. He is Associate Editor of Journal of Signal, Image and Video Processing and Journal of Information. He is topic Editor of Frontiers in Biotechnology and Bioengineering. He has supervised over 20 MSc students and over 10 PhD students. He has published over 200 scientific works. He has been in the organizing committee and technical committee of IEEE Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and SampTA2017 and TCP of conferences such as ICOSST, ICGIP and SIU. He is organizing challenges and workshops in FG2017, CVPR2017, ICCV2017, ECML2019, FG20, and FG24. He is also leading guest editor of several special issues on Human Behaviour in EURASIP Journal on Image and Video Processing, Entropy, and Machine Vision and Applications.
